Productdescription
The SF 1710 series is a flow switche featuring a field-adjustable paddle, making it adaptable for a wide range of pipe sizes and flow rates. Its operation is based on the force of the fluid, which pushes the paddle to actuate the switch. By other words, this mechanical paddle is displaced by the force of liquid flow, actuating a magnetic reed switch. As the flow displaces the paddle, it compresses an internal spring that repositions a magnetic element. In a no-flow or empty pipe scenario, the spring is fully expanded, keeping the magnet clear of the reed switch and leaving the electrical contact open. However, once the flow is strong enough to tilt the paddle by approximately 20 to 30 degrees the magnet is moved close enough to activate the reed switch. This proximity closes the contact, providing a clear and reliable electrical signal to indicate that fluid is flowing through the pipe.
